Lemon rice

2 cups Basmati rice, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp split Urad dhal, 1/2 tsp split Chana dhal, juice from one big size lemon or 1/4 cup from concentrated lemon juice, 2 dry red chilies, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds( not included in the picture)1/2 cup peanuts and salt3

For 1 cup of basmati rice( the cup I used is shown in this picture) add 1 1/2 cup of water 4

Add 1 1/2 tsp of salt and cook the rice. I used electric rice cooker 5

Squeeze the juice out of the lemon and set it aside 6

Spread the cooked rice for 10 minutes and so that it will not be very sticky when mixing 7

Make ready all the ingredients 8

Add oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds 9

Red chilies 10

Curry leaves, split Chana dhal 11

Splits Urad dhal 12

Peanuts 13

Also I added couple of cashew nuts and fry them in a medium flame14

Now add the lemon juice and turmeric powder


Mix them 16
