Tandoori Chicken- Chicken marinated overnight in spices, curd /yogurt and cooked in the oven. If you are planning for making large quantity of chicken legs/drumsticks for a party, this is an easy way of cooking.2

Tandoori powder( I used Shan tandoori powder)  1 packet
Ginger & Garlic Paste 2 tbsp
Oil 3 tbsp
Curd/yogurt 3 tbsp
Salt As required


Place 3 tbsp of curd/yogurt in a strainer like shown in the picture above for 3 to 4 hours so that any liquid from the curd/yogurt will be collected in the vessel below. You do not need any water in the curd/yogurt when marinating the chicken. otherwise, when you place the chicken in the oven to cook, more water will be oozing out from the chicken. This method of placing the curd is to avoid that.4

Wash and clean the chicken legs/drumsticks5

Add all the ingredients to the chicken to marinate 6

Marinate the chicken and keep it in the refrigerator for overnight7

When ready for cooking, place all the chicken pieces in a baking tray. Apply oil or any oil spray before placing the chicken on the tray8

Line the chicken as shown in the picture above.9

And also add 1 or 2 tbsp oil on top of the chicken. I added Pam oil spray on the chicken before placing the chicken in the oven10

Bake the chicken at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked. ( Heating differs with each oven). Once cooked, put the oven in broil for about 15 to 20 minutes, so that the chicken will get crisper. Once done, took the chicken out and serve it hot.11Enjoy!!
