Green Moong Dal Vadai | Pachai Payaru Vadai | Veg Appetizer

Green Monng Dal is a very good source of iron, fiber and loaded with proteins. Try this recipe

for an evening snack and make a nutritional evening snack for the kids.

Green Moong Dal 1 Cup
Urad Dal 1 1/2 tbsp
Chopped Onions 1/2 Medium size
 Chopped Curry leaves 4 or 5
Chopped Coriander leaves 1 pinch
 Fennel Seeds/Sombu 1 tsp
Dry Red Chilies 4 or 5 (depend on your spice level)
 Asafoetida  Powder 1/4 tsp
 Salt As required

Soak the green moong dal and urad dal separately for 4 to 5 hours. Drain the water completely and add to the mixer jar and grind it coarsely ( use only the whipper button)

After a couple of whip, stop the mixer and add the red chillies, asafoetida powder, salt, fennel seeds and whip it again

The consisitency of the vadai batter is shown in the above picture

Now add the chopped onions, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well

Mix well the vadai batter and make it ready for frying

Take a lemon size ball of the vadai batter

Flat it as shown above

Fry it in the oil with the medium heat

Once done, remove it from the oil

Place it aside.  Crispy green moong dal vadai is ready.Enjoy!
